RIAA Stands for: "Real Insane Addicted A-holes"!
adamjonfuller
This is going to be short because I could go on for a long time at how dumb this is. The RIAA is trying to charge the radio stations royalty fees for playing music from their record labels (or they will consider it pirating). The radio stations already are in money trouble, what could the RIAA be thinking? This is going to kill the already struggling radio market… end of story!
Update: more recently the RIAA tried to raise the price for playing music online. Pandora said that they could not pay the added fees and would have to close the doors. Enter the government, they extended the time for the record labels and internet radio stations to hammer out a new price, so Pandora is alive (at least for now). In addition, Apple told everyone that is the fees were to go up, they to would have to close the doors to the iTunes music store. Since then, the labels have decided not to raise the price for music downloads. WOW this is getting nuts!

Wh t th h ck (what the heck)
adamjonfuller
I went the the theater last weekend and saw the new Indiana Jones movie. Have to say it was excellent until the last 5 min. (That is besides the point) I didn’t notice but apparently Paramount clipped audio from the movie to discourage pirating it. “What the heck” I am just trying to legitimately watch a movie and this is how I am repaid? I made the comment before and I will make it again… TOO MUCH COPYRIGHT!

Too Much Copyright
adamjonfuller
Has copyright laws gone too far? Try to rap your head around this one, Man and Machine (M&M – not the candy) is suing both Apple and CBS for copyright infringement. This is where it gets complicated, in 2004 M&M made a water and chemical proof mouse and gave it the name Mighty Mouse. In 2005, Apple released its own Mighty Mouse, paying CBS for the right to use the name. M&M clams that CBS, who owns the rights to the Mighty Mouse cartoon from the 1940′s, didn’t have the rights to the name for technology purposes. Are you confused, I am? Here is what I think; M&M used the name Mighty Mouse without the rights and now to avoid large law suites from Apple and CBS, they have turned the tables. The market is too saturated with copyrights and people are to greedy about them. This need to stop!
